Am I crazy to paint my Kitchen Cabinets in oak?
I am remodeling the kitchen with oak cabinets. Im going to the country / appearance primitive and paint the cabinets a country in dark blue, and sand to give a finish / antique primitive, but everyone calls me crazy. I thought the guys in the paint shop was about to fall. Am I really crazy to do that to my oak cabinets? What is the problem?
Oak I had in my other house. I wanted white, but there was a price to upgrade important. Since this was a new house, they never mentioned painting … my husband had thought he was crazy. The house we live now had wood cabinets were 70 and very outdated. We painted them white and distress. We just nickel hardware new and it seems great !!!!! You're not crazy. Go for it. Men like the stained wood … I hate it! I like the Painted Wood. Just be careful, there are a lot of work but well worth it. And besides, it's your house. If people do no, do not come. You can also tell people when they make the house payment, they can complain …. lol We had to paint department at Lowe's. We told them what we were doing and we sold a first. It is oil based, but after it dries, you can use any When painting, oil or latex. Although seal. Good luck!
