mixing black and brown?
OK, so I’m “collecting” furniture ideas for the apt I’m moving into this summer. I basically own no furniture, and have saved up enough to buy nice things.
I’d really like to have black tables, sofa, chairs… but I’m having trouble finding styles I like. However, there is an abundance of wooden items in shades of brown. (duh…).
Sooo, my question is, is it OK to have both colors in the same room? Like if I got a black couch, would it look weird to have a brown Coffee Table? I’ll be going with an orange/red color scheme, BTW.
Oh, should my LR tables match? (coffee, end, side, console…) For instance, I’ve found some awesome Coffee Tables, but they do not come with matching Side Tables…
You can mix black with brown when it comes to furniture… as long as they are the same style…. as far as a coffee table matching the side tables… well that is no longer in style… try a black couch with chocolate coffee table and maybe some mirrored side tables to glam the room up. Zgallerie.com has a lot of nice stuff if you are more transitional/modern. Also for really cool furniture ideas…. try horchow.com and look at their furniture section even though they are expensive…. Good luck… and bring your furniture together with accessories.
